Sunday was the opening day for the newly refurbished SBG Gym on Queensway, Rochdale. The first thing that struck me was not the gym itself but the people who work there and the clear bortherhood they have together and the effort they put into getting everything ready for the opening day. Stapes (the owner) was at the gym till 4am that morning doing the finishing touches to the gym to be ready for the big day.
When the doors opened a crowd of people entered eager to see the gym and try it out. There is alot of space in this gym and there are loads of different styles of martial arts , boxing , wrestling, judo , MMA and a fully kitted out gym for conditioning so members want for nothing in terms of pursuing their art. The one thing though that Stapes could not refurbish was the togetherness all the members have at the gym, its a really welcoming place and everyone is willing to help they all support eachother even when they are training hard and knocking seven bells out of eachother !
If you are looking to join a gym then don't think twice this place is spot on and has everything you need.
